Rainfall Index Plan Common Policy, Basic Provisions - Modifications Effective for 2025 and Succeeding Crop Years
- Background

The Rainfall Index (RI) Plan Common Policy, Basic Provisions are being updated for the 2025 crop year. The following revisions are applicable for the 2025 and succeeding crop years:
- Clarified that cover crops are not insurable and added consequences if a cover crop is insured under the policy.
- Clarified that an approved insurance provider (AIP) may only cancel a policy with express written consent from the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation (FCIC).

The following materials will be available by close of business today on the Risk Management Agency (RMA) website at www.rma.usda.gov/Policy-and-Procedure/Insurance-Plans/Annual-Forage.
- Rainfall Index Plan Common Policy, Basic Provisions (25-RI)
AIPs must notify policyholders of these changes and provide them the new Basic Provisions and Crop Provisions at least 30 days prior to the cancellation date as required by policy.
