County/Parish Actuarial Changes for 2018 Crop Year
11/30 Filing for the Jackson Regional Area
JACKSON, Miss., Dec.19, 2017 — The USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) has made changes to several county/parish high risk actuarial maps and rates in the states of Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee for the 2018 crop year. These changes are for the November 30 filing. A listing of the changes can be found on the Jackson Regional Office website.
Federal crop insurance is critical to the farm safety net. It helps producers and owners manage revenue risks and strengthens the rural economy. Information on available coverage for crops in select counties/parishes can found on the RMA Information Browser.
Crop insurance is sold and delivered solely through private crop insurance agents. A list of crop insurance agents is available at all USDA Service Centers and online at the RMA Agent Locator. Producers can use the RMA Cost Estimator to get a premium amount estimate of their insurance needs online.
For more information about crop insurance and the modern farm safety net, visit the RMA website.
